"It's actually the employee parking lot for the Vatican. It's shot on a holiday, so you get this empty, haphazard feeling. I had also been loosely shooting some photographs around the concept of desire lines and was drawn to the two winding paths left by the trail of cars. In a sense it's about people imposing their subjectivity onto the systems that control our lives. It also strikes me as very indicative of a Mediterranean sensibility."
